ViskoTeepak's Lommel plant is taking a major step forward in sustainability with the installation of a 6118.2 KWp solar panel park. Expected to go live by October 2025, this initiative will provide around 23% of the plant’s annual electricity needs while reinforcing our long-term commitment to renewable energy.
The panels will be installed both on the ground and on the roof of the finished products warehouse, using an east-west setup to optimize energy generation throughout the day. With an estimated output of 5150 MWh annually, the park will fully power the plant during peak sunlight hours and make a measurable dent in our overall carbon footprint.
To support the integration of this power, two 3150 KVA transformers will connect the solar energy to the plant’s 6KV network. Work begins with the roof installation, followed by the larger ground setup. The project is advancing on schedule, with commissioning planned for autumn 2025.
In parallel, 16 charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed, further advancing our shift toward sustainable transport options for employees and visitors alike. This combined effort not only supports our operational goals but demonstrates our role as a responsible and forward-looking industry leader.
By harnessing solar energy and encouraging electric mobility, the Lommel plant sets a strong example of how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand in industrial manufacturing.
