ViskoTeepak is changing how splices are identified on shirred Fibrous casing strands. Previously, marking tape was placed around the outside of the packaging net. With the refined method, a small piece of tape will instead be placed directly on the loop whenever a splice is present.
Only the position of the tape changes. Its purpose remains the same: to provide operators with a clear visual indication of where the splice is located.
For customers and operators, this means:
- Splices remain clear and easy to identify.
- No additional handling steps are introduced.
- Existing workflows and procedures remain unchanged.
- The casing and shirred-strand construction are unaffected.
- Product performance remains the same.
The earlier method involved adhesive tape being applied manually to the packaging net, creating a potential risk of adhesive transferring to the strand surface. Moving the marker to the loop reduces this potential contact and helps minimize the risk of contamination and mold formation.
The result is the same operational functionality customers already rely on, supported by an additional preventive safeguard for food safety and consistent product quality.
