A shirred casing is always in a premium condition and less prone to smearing, helping to maintain an attractive end product appearance. A special application in the shirred category is the casing called RTU®. As a pre-moisturized casing, it requires no soaking before stuffing. This results in reduced processing time and eliminates the risk of contamination from water during the soaking stage. The popular RTU® fibrous casing also features excellent caliber consistency for high reliability and efficiency in stuffing.
